About Me

Christian Hip Hop artist and the author of “Soar Higher,” Alex MacDonald, born in Oklahoma City and has spent most of his life in Northeast Indiana, known as the “Crossroads of America.”
Influenced by songwriters like Bob Dylan and his grandfather William C. Sego, as well as artists such as Tupac, Eminem, and Jay Z from the 90s and 2000s, MacDonald embarked on his journey as a live performer under the aliases Thom Alexander and later A Mac.
With the release of his album “Behold The Light” and more recently an EP titled “The Winning Team,” MacDonald’s main goal in performing, creating, and sharing his music and thoughts is deeply rooted in the excitement of all the great life changing information he has discovered mixed with what feels like a Divine Calling to create.
Through his music, he strives to impart the life-changing wisdom he has gained, impacting those who resonate with his unique sound. Renowned for his compelling storytelling, distinctive rhyming styles, and unwavering dedication, MacDonald’s music draws listeners in, encouraging them to join him on his musical voyage. “Breaking the Chain of Fools” is a collaboration with DJ sunnysideup who grew up in Fort Wayne, IN but has since moved to Japan. Alex put out a Facebook post asking for a producer to sample Aretha Franklin and sunnysideup jumped right on it and create this masterpiece of a beat! Alex MacDonald took a few months to write this song, so sunnysideup almost thought that he would never even do anything with it. Then, one day like a strike of lightening, inspiration hit MacDonald and he drove down to the park and sat next to the pond, and wrote out this entire song in about 10-15 minutes.
